Lanvin Man

Lanvin Man Comes to NYC

Forget Paris. The French fashion house Lanvin has found a new home on the Upper East Side for its devoted male following.

Finally, Lanvin has opened its first men’s flagship store outside Paris, in an elegant townhouse on the Upper East Side. The opening makes the brand the third in a string of French fashion houses (followingDior and Christian Louboutin) to launch a major U.S. store dedicated to serving its male clientele in New York in the last year. New York is now the second city worldwide to offer the complete range of Lanvin menswear collections, including made-to-measure suiting.
Set in a 5,800-square-foot townhouse on Madison Avenue, the boutique has a limestone façade that evokes Old New York and sleek, contemporary interiors that ooze forward-looking fashion. On the first floor, Lanvin’s runway, sportswear, and accessories collections are posed on minimalist furnishings and wall fixtures. The brand’s sartorial collection, smoking jackets, and formalwear fill the second floor.
The third floor is Lanvin’s VIP salon, home of private, appointment-only made-to-measure services. When you call to make an appointment, indicate your preferred fabrics and suit silhouette—a full-body cut, a traditional cut, or a slim cut—and the salesperson will curate the selection to your taste before you even arrive. Alternatively, you could always just show up on appointment day, settle in a plush velvet seat in front of the fireplace, and thumb through more than 200 fabrics.
Among the plentiful assortment, some fabrics are very rare, with only enough on hand to make a few suits between both the New York and Paris stores. Lanvin’s sales team recommends scheduling appointments soon after each season's new shipment of fabrics arrives. (Tip: The store just got its spring fabric selection earlier this month—so now is the time). The suits are made in Italy and take just five-to-six weeks from start to finish.
