Envisioned by Concrete Architectural Associates, this new citizenM hotel in Rotterdam, The Netherlands boasts no less than 151 guest rooms and an overall impressive design. Upon entering the unit, guests are greeted by a red glazed vestibule and an elegant wooden staircase hinting the way towards the check-in desk with four self-check-in terminals on the first level. Original cabinets descend from the upper floors, containing books and artworks.
The first level is also where the public areas are located, an environment especially developed to encourage social interaction: “The space is divided in several areas that offer environments to work, socialize, relax or have a drink. Choose a living room with a cosy fireplace or go for a more cafe style environment. Set to work at the communal tables or enjoy a croissant overlooking the people coming from the train station“, explained the designers. A rich color palette and various decorating objects make each of the interiors dynamic and inviting. [Photography: Richard Powers for Concrete Architectural Associates]
