Los Angeles Restaurants – Connie & Ted’s

Culinary heavyweight Michael Cimarusti continues to capture the hearts and bellies of Los Angeles diners with his modern and reverent treatment of shellfish, first at the time-honoured Water Grill, then via haute seafood at Providence, and now with slick ‘clam shack’ Connie & Ted’s (inspired by lazy childhood days spent fishing in Rhode Island and named after his grandparents – sweet!).

With Providence alum Sam Baxter wearing the Executive Chef hat with pride, plates include the three-clam chowder taster menu of creamy, tomato-heavy and salty broths all with roots on the East Coast; and chopped quahogs sautéed with breadcrumbs, minced sausage, and sweet peppers, then stuffed back into their shells and baked until crusty-hot. Clam-tastic!
